Old Piles of Words Because the word is mightier than the stone.

First day of class in Antigua

After a relaxing week-end spent testing park benches in the city, we packed our backpacks and headed for school on this beautiful Monday morning. Our hosts had prepared a huge breakfast to help us get through this big day, with fruit piled up at least 5 cm high on our already rather large plates. So with full stomachs and much anticipation, we worked our way through the cobblestone streets and joined the ranks of students flocking to the center for their lessons at one of the 70-some Spanish schools the city harbors.

Matt spent his morning learning about the beauty of ser y estar, while I tried to explain the 'language issue' of Belgium in Spanish to my teacher.

Quite brain-dead at that point, we headed home for another gigantic and delicious meal, before going back to the city to take some pictures and try to walk off some of that food. But soon it was already time for dinner...

And of course, time to do homework rolled around soon after that. And so the good children stopped playing with their computers and set out to work on their grammar and essays.

Bonne nuit les petits!
