Welcome to the OPOS blog. We are on a trip through South America right now, and this blog is meant to keep our friends and families up to date on our location and activities.
This is the plan:
- Start our trip in Colorado, my home state
- Fly up to Chicago for a couple of days to see my sister
- Head down to Guatemala
- Start with a month of language classes in Antigua
- Travel for a week or two
- take a month of classes somewhere else
- Work our way up to Mexico City
- Head through Belize
- See the Maya ruins in the Yucatan
- Stop in Oaxaca
- Fly down to southern Chile, working our way north
- Tentative: spend a couple of weeks in Bolivia
- Head up into Peru

We are going to spend Saturday night on the summit of the highest volcano in Central America and watch the sun rise over the country.
What are you guys going to do to celebrate Venla’s birthday?
